Class Descriptions

Yoga Basics

This 75-minute class is suitable for students new to yoga, and for current practitioners who wish to deepen their asana (yoga poses) and pranayama (yogic breathing and energy) practice by gaining a thorough understanding of the basics. While all the classes in this series will offer a well-rounded practice, each class will have a special theme, such as standing poses, forward bends, twists, seated poses, etc.

Structural Yoga™ Levels 1-2 and Level 1

These are hatha yoga classes that focus on correct alignment, adapting poses for individual needs and levels, and building skills for more advanced practices.

Gentle Yoga for Healing & Stress

Contemplative, quieting, and deeply relaxing, this class pairs gentle, therapeutic yoga with breathwork, relaxation, meditation, and guided imagery. Appropriate for those with pain, health challenges, stress, and those who are on a healing journey.

Flow Yoga - Riding the Breath

In this medium intensity class, participants synchronize movements to the breath in a dynamic flow of postures interspersed with strength-building and stretching poses. Flow yoga helps increase strength, flexibility and balance, and is toning ... and fun! Some yoga experience recommended.

Power Flow Yoga

Yoga boot camp! Combines powerful flow sequences (vinyasas) with challenging postures and Pilates-based matwork. Requires strong yoga & fitness levels; not appropriate for beginners.

Yoga For Bone Strength

This is a class especially for those with osteopenia or osteoporosis, and those who wish to improve posture. In this class, students will learn to move joyfully and safely, to prevent further bone loss and strengthen the core musculature that can build new, strong bone and foster improved posture and breathing. Combining safe, adapted yoga poses with a program that focuses on balance, fall prevention, and safe execution of activities of daily living, students can enjoy yoga while learning to avoid movements that could be harmful – in and out of yoga class!

Anusara Yoga Basics

Anusara means "flowing with grace." Anusara yoga is a method of hatha yoga that combines proper alignment principles of the body with an emphasis on moving from the heart. In this class, Ann will teach students to apply the Anusara principles in each yoga pose, while adapting the postures so that they become accessible to all. Students will gradually build a strong foundation and learn to engage their physical and "spiritual muscles" in a way that creates both strength and freedom. In the highest sense, Anusara sees yoga as a practice with the potential to awaken us to our innate goodness.

This class is appropriate for beginners and for those who would like to deepen their understanding of the basic yoga postures.

SVAROOPA YOGA

Svaroopa means “the Bliss of your own Being.” Svaroopa Yoga offers a gentle and compassionate approach to yoga, making it ideal for beginners as well as advanced yogis. We focus on deep supportive poses, using props and precise alignment to release deeply held tensions in the body, to promote profound well-being, healing and transformation.

Structural YOGA Fundamentals

This class will focus on the foundational poses of Structural Yoga -- a highly adaptive approach to yoga practice that customizes yoga for individual needs. Working with attention to detail and precise, individualized alignment, Adelle will guide students through Sun Salutations, joint freeing movements, yoga poses and accessible breathing (pranayama) techniques that will make this practice accessible to all students. Perfect for beginners, yoga teachers and teacher trainees, and anyone seeking to refine their practice.
NOTE: This class is for women only.

Yoga Fundamentals

Anyone can attend Yoga Fundamentals, from first-time beginners to seasoned yoga veterans who wish to deepen their practice. Using verbal instructions, carefully selected music, and gentle hands-on adjustments, Michael creates an atmosphere and a sequence that will suit just about anyone. He provides modifications to poses for those who are at different levels of practice as well as for those who are working with injuries or special conditions. His non-competitive and non-aggressive mind-set are contagious; you'll leave his class feeling a lot better about yourself and about life in general!

Yoga For Athletes

Yoga for Athletes provides a workout that will enhance sports performance. Appropriate for cyclists, runners, triathletes, tennis players, and all dedicated athletes, students will gain flexibility and strength that is often compromised by an intense and dedicated sport-specific lifestyle. Yoga for Athletes is designed to tune up the physical body, and calm the mind for clarity and focus. Students will be closely observed and gently guided through a safe, effective, and fun Yoga workout.
