FOOT REFLEXOLOGY NOW AVAILABLE
Treat your feet to a gift of healing they deserve!
Using pressure-point massage, foot reflexology can help restore balance throughout the body by releasing areas of blocked energy and helping you to reduce stress and relax from head to toe Ð quite literally.
Our feet offer a map of the entire body. Reflex points on the feet correspond to every organ, gland, muscle, bone, and system of the body. When these points are stimulated through gentle finger-pressure technique, the entire body is rejuvenated and rebalanced.
Focus on Feet
Feet are the most unappreciated and abused part of our anatomy.
Do you run for the bus, pound from the conference room to your office and back, travel the supermarket aisles, chase after the kids, faithfully do your Yoga practice, cook dinner, and then wonder why your feet ache after a busy day?
At the end of that busy day, the average person has taken over ten thousand steps on unforgiving surfaces, usually wearing improper footwear. Ouch!
If the Shoe Fits...
Most adults have abused feet caused by ill-fitting shoes. There are no shoes on the market that truly conform to the outline of the human foot. This becomes obvious if you just place your shoe beside your foot and compare the shape. In addition, one foot is almost always slightly larger than the other, so one shoe will always fit a bit better than the other.
High heels are probably our worst enemies, as they negatively affect our center of gravity, distribution of body weight, balance, and position of the spine. They cause bunions and sciatic pain, among other avoidable problems. So avoid those high heels!
And stay away from synthetic shoes, too, as they stifle your feet and don't allow for proper ventilation, thus increasing the risk of fungal infection.
So, what to wear? Low-heeled, lightweight, leather or natural fiber shoes are best.
One more tip: shop for shoes in the late afternoon or evening after any foot swelling has occurred -- you'll end up with better-fitting, more comfortable shoes.
